Indonesia JAVA Blawan

The Blawan estate, where these single-origin beans come from, is located in the east of the island of Java, at the eastern end of the Ijen volcano, and extends across the surrounding plateau. Controlled directly by the government since its independence from the Netherlands, which founded it, it produces coffee that is highly prized by connoisseurs.

The families of the Blawan estate have passed down their experience and passion for coffee from generation to generation. The volcanic soil, enriched by centuries of activity, the ideal altitude thanks to its higher position than the rest of the island, and the incredible and precious microclimate of the plateau all contribute to an extraordinary production.

The processing also contributes to this: here, unlike what traditionally happens with Indonesian coffees, which are mostly semi-washed or wet-hulled, the coffees are completely washed with a fermentation of about 36 hours. Careful selection after drying completes the process.

The same treatment and care have also been reserved for this single origin, which is rightly classified as Excellence: a cup with a particularly uniform and clean profile.
